چکیده
Abstract Background The professional knowledge of pre‐service teachers is highly important for effective and successful teaching. In recent years, many research groups have been engaged in developing simulated classroom environments to capture especially the pedagogical (PK) teachers, neglecting content‐related facets such as content (PCK). Objectives present study, we describe development a environment—the Simulated Classroom Biology (SCR Bio )—and provide evidence regarding its validity assess biology teachers' action‐oriented PCK area evolution. Methods This study examined supporting using SCR investigate teachers. (1) based on test (expert ratings) (2) relation other variables (known‐groups comparison) was obtained. We tested with N = 76 German Results Conclusions Our results show successfully operationalized through explicit allocation specific misconceptions each virtual student's answer valid measurement PCK. validated environment but also in‐service future, will be developed from an assessment instrument training tool simulate teaching situations. allows complement predominantly theoretical components university‐based teacher education practice‐based environments.

Directional benefit in simulated classroom environments.
PURPOSE To examine speech recognition performance and subjective ratings for directional and omnidirectional microphone modes across a variety of simulated classroom environments. METHOD Speech recognition was measured in a group of 26 children age 10-17 years in up to 8 listening environments. RESULTS Significant directional benefit was found when the sound source(s) of interest was in fro...
متن کاملPredicting reverberation times in a simulated classroom.
By varying the sound-absorption treatments in a simulated classroom, experimental results were compared with analytical and computer predictions of reverberation time. Analytical predictions were made with different absorption exponents, which are the result of different weighting procedures involving room surface areas and the sound-absorption coefficients. Sound scattering was found to influe...

متن کاملPreservice Teachers’ Theory Development in Physical and Simulated Environments
We report a study of three prospective secondary science teachers’ development of theoriesin-action as they worked together in a group to explore collisions using both physical manipulatives and a computer simulation (Interactive Physics). Analysis of their investigations using an existing theoretical framework indicates that, as the group moved from physical experiments to the computer simulat...
متن کاملTeaching Teachers about Emotion Regulation in the Classroom
Emotions affect, and are intertwined with, many of the cognitive processes of learning and also classroom motivation and social interaction. There are often times within daily classroom life that students and teachers are required to, or feel compelled to, regulate their emotions. Limited research has shown that particular aspects of classroom environments can enhance emotion regulation strateg...
